United out of the FA cup again. This has over the years become a normality for the great club despite being joint record holders of the coveted trophy. Many questions will arise; did we take it seriously enough? Is HE the right man for United? Are we losing our dominance?
Even under Moyes’ era, we were unbeaten against Arsenal!! I think it was more painful that we lost to Arsenal at home than the fact that Welbeck.
The only bright thing about the game was Rooney. Wayne Rooney has been a gem ever since he was moved back to his favourable role. His movements up the field have been amazing. He has been able to seamlessly bring other players into play like Fellaini and Di Maria. Its a shame the latter players have not been able to reflect this.
We need a Right Back. Antonio Valencia has been stable at that position but on Monday, he was horrible. He can be credited with both goals. Position wise, Monreal was in acres of space and time to round off his goal. His horrible backpass for Welbz’s finish was a schoolboy mistake.
Against Tottenham, the Eucadorian will have trouble against the likes of Danny Rose and Nacer Chadli and Christian Eriksen.
Our attack also has to be on top shape against Spurs. The likes of Young, Herrera and Fellaini have to match up to the captain. Lloris is a world class keeper and we had real trouble breaching his guard during the first leg. We therefore have to be very clinical and take our chances, especially because we are at home and the Trafford faithful is very demanding about an attacking style of play from the men in red.
Top four is a definite must and we have a tricky run of games but I believe its possible. Whatever we do, we have to this THE UNITED WAY.
Feedback is highly appreciated.
